Songs From The Girls Room is a collection of songs & poems by Arial Robinson addressed to the feelings and experiences that make the bathroom the transformative space that it is. A dash of reflection sprinkled with a bit of imagination. This collection is a culmination of themes and thoughts helping me to define her womanhood & carve out a perspective that honors tradition, but urges us to examine the ever-changing concept of identity, through the Black feminine lens.

In this exhibition Arial utilizes music to take us through the journey of how this body of work came to be. Birthed from a photo series, inspired by a TV segment, this book & exhibition is a continuation & amalgamation of a prior digital exhibit and feature magazine article that she created to explore her coming of age.
