Here in the Supply Shop we offer a growing selection of objects that can be utilized to create. From using household items as props and using table cloths as backdrops, We understand It can be a challenge to craft meaningful productions with lean teams and tight budgets. The CREATE corner of the supply shop was designed to supply creators of all sizes in bringing their ideas to life. 

Additionally as we support our community we also have carved out this space to receive that same love back. We imagine the projects crafted in the lab to live in your daily spaces for inspiration and entertainment. Think museum gift shop. Once you’ve seen the exhibition there is almost always something waiting at the end for you to take home. The COLLECT corner of the supply shop was designed to supply collectors with mementos from the completed projects.

Artists are astronauts. Our performance is practice. We are a journey of discovery to the unknown. Our creativity is embedded in our reps. We ignite feelings and push the boundaries of the body, for the sake of art. Intuition is vital in our pursuit. Whether on-stage or on-set, or in a showroom or gallery, it’s important that we have clothing that can keep up with us.

The Astral Unit is an apparel project that blends celestial aesthetics with black narratives by leveraging  athletic and everyday silhouettes and accessories to deliver attire that can support the many hats today’s artist must wear. With a prioritization in comfortability and flexibility, we hope to become a part of your world of work, whatever work means for you.

What do you think of when you hear the word space? Your mind may wonder all the way out among the stars, or stay right at home in your living room. You may think about your place in society or the interiors of your local community. No matter what comes to mind it’s important that we consider the space we occupy. For many creators that means approaching space with consideration for the past, present & future.
I ask myself, “How can I take up space in a radical way?” This question led me to the Art Department. On a film set the Art Department is responsible for the set design & construction, props and prosthetics for the production. Through my experience sourcing for my production design projects I noticed a need for a rental service that supports smaller on-screen projects leading me to develop Studio Stargazer. 
Studio Stargazer is an upcycling project with a focus on servicing small photo & film productions, brand experiences and special occasions, with props, backdrops, and tools. Crafted and curated by The Lab, this project seeks to enable creators in the city of Charlotte, NC to build their own worlds by offering unique, repurposed & culturally relevant objects for rent. 
In a world full of A.I. we’re keeping things practical. By supplying the city’s creator community with an easy and accessible way to get practical items, this project allows creators in the city with smaller budgets the opportunity to create without the commitment of purchasing.
