Soular World Magazines is a project powered by The Soular Lab that uses magazines as a vehicle to connect Black creators with the world beyond algorithms. What started as a Black American Magazine that ran for two issues, the goal of Soular World Magazine without the s, was dedicated to taking a deeper dive into the world's of regular people doing extraordinary things in my local community. SWM was a short concept publication where the child never grows ups. That inner youth follows us along our journeys and allows us the space to explore, document and reflect. From fashion and lifestyle to arts and literature, the world was ours to discover & it still is.
Soular World Magazines with the s, still holds true to that sentiment, but instead of producing a publication, we are picking this back up by pivoting with a different approach. One that is more communal, environmentally friendly, and rooted in creative research. Instead of just creating a magazine (because we are gonna do that!) this will be a series of projects that leverage magazines as a tool to bring creators together.
